Thumbs up Hood Kit Install

250 parts, 35 food, a day with firends, priceless. Was a wet day in So Cal but the boys from OC pickups limited made it a bright one. Great bunch of guys always willing to help. It was nice to see Bill Lee in action. He didn't miss a beat on the install. Next week painless wiring.

Anyway, its linked twice now. Thats a nice kit. Looks good. How do they latch at the cowl when you reverse them?

What I learned is to do all the alingments then you install the pin latch device last. The real trick was to rise the complete front end from the radiator mount. This will get the proper gap between the cowl and hood. Thats your starting point, then do the rest.

I just finished installing the gas shocks on my hood, No pics yet. Since everyone commented on my broom stick hood support. I kinda like my hood the way it is now. However, after looking at your truck, I'm thinking about going your route Ed. So, am I suppose to have the barbeque going when you and your club buddies come over? LOL... Really looks nice. Good job.

I received the lower portion of a soft latch I bought off ebay yesterday. I also bought a complete assembly, top and bottom that hasn't arrived yet, that will tell me if it's workable.

Where did you purchase the kit, might be something I would like to do, my hood mounting shoulder bolt holes are all worn out of shape this would solve the problem. By the way looks great, nice Truck...
