I just got this truck in September and now that it's getting colder in Jersey, what is the best and quickest way to warm up the cab on cold mornings? I have the 6.7L Diesel and understand it's not good to let it idle. My ride to work is only 25 - 30 minutes and on frosty snowy mornings I need to get out the door and moving as quick as possible, I leave @ 5 a.m. I also have the block heater and was wondering if that would make a difference in getting warm air quicker.
I use the remote start just before I fill my to-go coffee cup and kiss the wife and kids goodbye. About 5 min of warm up and I have good heat as soon as I'm out of the neighborhood and the seat is fairly warm. I park in the garage, but it's still been about 15 degrees in the garage the last 2 weeks or so. I'm going to try the block heater soon (maybe tonight) to see the difference with no pre start or only 30-60 seconds.
Block heater will help some. Do you have the rapid supplemental heat option? It works quite well when temps are below 30 degrees or so. It does not help with engine warm up.
Remote start is something I want to get, I had that in my trade in truck and really miss it. What is the heat option and how do I tell if I have it or not? I got the truck in Maine on a camping trip and bought it the day before we came home, needless to say I got no instructions on any of the finer points and have relied on this forum for answers.

thanks.
Rapid Heat is an option, should be on the window sticker.
Basically a "hair dryer" in your heating duct.
Electric heat upon start...
Heated butt warmer.
Remote start, and you're good
except for the living in NJ
No electric heat, guess I'll have to brave the cold and go out and start it up before I leave for work, should be interesting Jersey is scheduled for another snow storm later this week.
Can't wait to get one installed, anyone know what Ford would charge to put one in? My trade-in had one installed from Circuit City and I loved it but then they went outta business. Go figure.
If another company puts one in, will it void the warranty?
Order the bc3z-19g364-a kit.. It comes with two oe ford
keys that the dealer will cut and you can program with the
other two keys.. The instalation was very easy one wire

is you need the dealer to set the remote start with the ids..
Fogot to say you might need the hood button bc3z-19g366-a..
