glow plugs

How long should the squiggle light stay on for? How can you tell if you have a burned up glow plug? i know on the old 7.3 idi's if the light didnt stay on very long that usually meant a bad glow plug.

ok good to know will it tell you which one is bad?

P0670-P0683 are the glow plug codes which can list a circuit OR glowplug problem. The 6.0 glowplugs are very very reliable. Why do you think you have a bad one? The extended light? The glowplugs can stay on for up to 2 minutes after the light goes out. Colder weather will make the light stay on longer also.
