OK, I took my truck in today to get the TSB 10-23-9 and the remote start on the truck turned on. MY dealers says he can't do either one? First he said since the truck was not throwing any "codes" that he had no reason to install the TSB. BUt I was under the impression that this was to fix the codes thrown AND to fix the harsh transmission upshifts? Whos wrong here? Also, he would not do the remote start because he had to have the two keys? I told him all he had to do was just turn the darn thing on in the IDS and its all gravy, but nope. Had the truck all day too for this?
No it's a job 1. But does have the 400/800 upgrade. Ok, I'm taking in the keys and such tomorrow. I'm going to have another dealer do the TSB. is there any way to tell if I have it or not?
I have traveled this road. The TSB 10-23-9 is an addition to the 400/800 upgrade and is tied to it. It applies to certain trucks with certain option packages and power train combination's. Not all VIN's are affected. When the dealer hooks up IDS, the computer tells him whether the truck has the correct upgrade flash or not. If the VIN does not require the additional flash, they can not proceed. BTDT Now, if they did not hook it to IDS, they will not know whether your VIN is included in the recall. Mine was not. Hope I explained this correctly.

I can not take too much credit here. The info I just posted came from responses to the same question that I asked a month ago. The great techs here and Powerstroke HD provided the explanation.
