If bottom end power is the most important thing to you, 4.10s or lower, will help your 302.
Otherwise, consider upgrading to a 351w...........a easy swap.
Your welcome , and i think the 302 will serve you well , the aftermarket support for them is very good , so you can do just about anything you want with them....Lew
It would be great to know a budget as I understood this initial post to be what can I do to get a little more performance from my 5.0. You have got to be a little more specific as it is easy to throw out specs on a killer engine build, but if doesn't fit your budget and it's out of reach then it does no good. I don't know the specs of the 351 cam, but I stand by my earlier post calling for some 1.7 rockers and Comp xe258 cam. You have headers, and this would help the intake side a bit so you're motor breathes a little better. Also try out the search function, I would guess you would find 5 billion threads on this very subject with more information than you could absorb. Guaranteed.
Yeah the term "351 cam" is meaningless mainly because most of these truck motors use the same cam. A '93 5.0 could certainly use a cam upgrade but the 35-510-8(XE256HR-12) isn't the best candidate(too much lift.. matching valve springs manditory), I suggest the 35-512-8(XE258HR-14) instead since it can be used with the stock springs. Another alternative is an F4TE truck cam from a '94+ 5.0 or 5.8 and add 1.7 rockers to that.
