its a 1993 f150 5.0 5speed with shorty headers and 3inch magnaflow msd coil and timmin advance 3degrees still stock intake but puttin a hood scoop for a ram air
Sounds like a winner. Let us know how that ram air turns out. You should drills holes in the top of the intake manifold too, that way it gets a little extra shot.
While it is a cool idea, going through all the trouble for the ram air won't really gain much if anything. If you want a good cold air setup, get the I6/460 tube from the air box to the radiator support. Its much better than the 5.0/5.8 one.

Agreed whole heartedly. If you want to add the ram air for looks that is fine. I'm not as tuned in on the speed density setups, but I know a bunch of cold (denser) air messes with maf if you don't tune it in the PCM. Probably asking for more trouble that it's worth.f
A hole on top of the manifold is fine!!!!!! If you have a carb sittin on it.....ha ha.....now that will work with ram air.
not quit sure on that one but i do work at a junkyard so im pretty sure i and gear something up and make it work put i cud put some pics up of it when i get it done if u wud like
I'm sure you could make something work, but the amount of time spent versus power gained is minimal. Since you have access to the parts in a junkyard, there are some other ways to get the 302 up and moving....
Get a used washer fluid tank, wire it to a switch in the cab and hook it up to the intake tubes. Fill the tank with dehydrated water and then inject as needed whenever you need a power boost.
Swap in the spark plugs from a non-turbo 6.2L Chevrolet diesel, preferably around a 1985 K3500 4wd model, altho the C2500 2wd models will work if thats all thats available
Lastly, see if you can find an early 1970's VW Bug, the radiator hoses off those flow much better than the stock ones that ford puts on the 302's going to the radiator, with the added power of the diesel plugs and dehydrated water, you will need the added cooling capability that the hi flow Bug radiator hoses provide.
Oh, and one other thing, while you will hear some people talk about how great it is, DO NOT add Dihydrogen Monoxide to your fuel tank!!!
