thanks. i didnt have time to check anything i put the carb on then see if it would start, it did so i left until i drove it today and it backfired out exhaust.
is jetting alright for the truck? if it's a new carb, i'd make sure to check it.
also adjust your accelerator pump, if it's adjusted too rich it'll cause a back fire when you floor it. (loosen it, set bar further back, whatever, less torque when you floor it)..
have fun, adjusting the carb for fuel is something that can last the lifetime of a vehicle.. and like others would say, adjust timing to spec before trying to mess with fuel mixture.
