I put a 390 4v intake from a T-Bird on my 73 F100 360/4 spd. Even though it's cast iron, it was a cheap upgrade. It easily revs much better. Maybe it's just the carb. I found the carb on an 85 F250 460. It was a factory rebuilt Holley. I put it on and it runs great. That was another $20. If you have the money I would get an aluminum intake, and while that's off swap for a better cam. My truck lacks pulling up a grade with a load.

i agree with the cfm........cant rule on the headers couse i havnt used them but i see no point unless your heavily modding the engine. my carb is the 650 cfm 4100 and it hauls ***

Check out the FE forum. The first thing they'll tell you to do to any FE is to ditch the logs and get some headers. The fe had no problem getting air, just getting rid of it. Improved power and mpg. The 1 other main thing that 360 needs would be a straight up timing set. The factory set is retarded 4* on 73 and up 360s.
