The dual port is mainly for an otherwise stock engine. If you reallywant performance you can feel you need to go with a different manifold.
I have a Offy C and 500cfm 4bbl on mine and it works well.

I have two Broncos with 300s. One has the Offy DP with a 390cfm and the other has an Offy C with a 600cfm (not my choice, just what came on it).

Both work very well. The Offy DP seems to offer a little more low end "snap", and in theory should deliver better mpg. The Offy C seems like smoother acceleration, and I can definitely feel the difference at higher RPMs.
However, to be honest, I can't say how much of that is because of the gear difference (3.00 and a 3.55), or the carb size difference.

I like both though, and wouldn't hesitate at either.

My favorite thing about the Offy C is the ability to mount the carb in any direction. With a DP, the 4bbl can only go on ONE WAY. The C offers any configuration. May or may not make it easier for your own custom accelerator bracket. (Something to keep in mind, because you need to come up with your own.)

AB, thank you for the input. The acc. cable is nobig deal for me,I am fairly good at fab work. I plan on going to a bigger cam and head work later on,so the "c" seems like the logical choice for me.Plus it can be used with a 2bbl if I so choose.

Very true. The DP can't be used with a 2bbl.
Well, it can, but it'd be a real mess.

With a cam and headwork, the C would probably work quite well for you.

Be sure to fab up a plate to plumb heat to the bottom of the manifold (if you're planning on heating the bottom of your manifold, and you should) and mount it before you install the manifold. I'd fab the throttle cable bracket using the same two holes in the manifold through which the heating plate is secured as the mounting point while it's off too. Especially with a 2-barrel, otherwise you'll need to modify the existing or get a new cable.

Abandonedbronco.. How did you fab up your kickdown lever for your trans? I just did the offy DP with the 1403 edlerbrock.. I wanted to see what other people did with their kick down.

BTW. I did the header, offy intake and the 1403 edlerbrock card. it woke her up.. Im thinking bout doing the mild P&P with a comp cam.. just gotta somehow talk the wife into letting me.. LOLOLOL

Mine's a manual, so I didn't need the kickdown linkage. May want to send F-250 Restorer a PM and ask him, since he has a C6.

AB I'd be willing to bet the extra power in the higher RPM range is due to the bigger carb more than anything. I got a DP, and I had a big QJet on there(750cfm), and it would probably rev way over 5k RPM if I let it.

My 390cfm / DP will rev that high too pretty easily.

I was meaning more at higher speeds/rpms. The DP seems to have a more difficult time accelerating and holding higher speeds than the C. Again, it may be other components that do it.
