no start cold

no start cold

ok had a no start hot problem would start awsome cold. found ipr orings bad. rebuilt ipr. truck started awsome for bout a week. then yest and this morning no start. wait to start lite cycles. do it 3 or 4 times no start. smoke like hell thou. hit w either start up run all day shut off and starts back up no problem. what issue do i have now? like i said started awsome at 0 degrees and now its 20 it wont even fart.

Turn the key on run out to the engine and lay a screwdriver across the two big terminals on the glow plug relay for about 30 seconds and I bet it starts. I think your gpr went bad

And it might be a good idea to replace all your glowplugs now too since you sprayed ether on hot glow plugs. That's not good. I'd rather get towed home than use that stuff in my engine.

agreed gpr is probably the problem i had this problem 2 years ago. i am by no means an advocate for dealer parts i avoid them due to price at all possible costs but this is a part you want to buy OEM the AM ones just burn up trust me i bought 2 before i finally bought OEM and there isnt that much price difference between the 2 to start with just spend a few more dollars the first time and save yourself the headaches that i went through

YUP, glow plug relay, next whatever you do, do not use either, that stuff will blow your engine, just hold a screw driver across the 2 big terminals on the glow plug relay for 30 seconds and fire it up.
