Quick ? on C4
I just pulled the motor & Trans in my 67 F250, I was under the impression the transmissions for the FE blocks were a 1 piece unit with the bell housing, this is a 2 piece unit. It is a FE block, I have another 390 sitting next to it with a C6 going back in.

C4's were not installed behind FE engines!
FMX's were only installed in 1969/85 Passenger Cars and 1973/77 F350's with the 300 I-6.
1965/67 F100/350's with 352's came with the MX Cruise-O-Matic as did 1965/72 F350's with the 300 I-6.
The MX is similar to the FMX (introduced 1969), but some internal parts and the pan gasket (and pan), the trans filter are MX only.
The FX, MX and FMX C-O-M's have a separate converter (aka bell) housing. This is made as part of the case on a C6.
