Y Block vs FE

I'm trying to figure out if I can use a FE motor mount kit in my F100 to mount a Car Flat-O C4 adapter. I realize they make a F100 kit but I got the car adapter at a swap meet and would like to try to use it.

What is the difference in Block width between a Y Block and a FE block? Any other things I should be aware of

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can use the kit that says it's for FE's, the Y is the same dimensions and uses the same type mount. Most of the afer market kit crossmembers I have seen use the motor mount that has only one stud so when putting in a Y you need later model mounts, don't remember exactly what year they changed, may 59 and later..

If you are using a bell housing to adapt one of the later auto trans you will need a rear trans mount crossmember also.

Hiball3985,
Thanks for the answer. It's Just the info I was needing. I suspected they (Y & FE blocks) were very close to the same size but didn't have a FE block to measure. I did notice the one instead of two stud mounts needed for the tubular motor mounts but I think I can find them locally. Also, no matter what I think I'll have to add a rear trans mount too.
Thanks again
