Remote Start-Am I missing something

Hello. I was sure that when I turned on my truck using the remote start that the heater would turn on being that I intentionally left the heater when I turned the truck off the night before. I tried auto and non auto and everytime I turn on my truck with the remote start the heater is off when I get in. I dont know know why you would have remote start if you cant warm up the rig while the person is inside their home. Has anyone ran into this issue? Let me know. Thanks.

What was the outside temperature? Do you have the supplemental rapid heat? You are not the first to be confused by this system. Mine works the way you would think it should most of the time. Then there are the times when I think it should come on but does not. It does appear that the auto climate control does not let the system blow cold air above a low fan setting. If you push the fan speed control button the auto climate cancels and the blower speed can be raised. The truck seems to think it is smarter than the owner...

Happy New Year

Hmmmmm Ok thanks for the post Y2K. Rickatic I guess the system comes on but no indicator lights are shown. I got in this morning and the extrior temp was 32 degrees. Noi lights were on on the climate control but I guess it was working. AT least thats what power strokes post says. I didnt let it idle for more than 5 min so maybe it would have kicked on if I let it idle longer. I dont know.

Mine does the same thing at temps below 32, comes on but no light indicator (even after 10+mins of idling). I could have sworn I saw it light up before I installed the lockpick and was questioning whether I got everything plugged back in after having the dash apart, but after reading your lights weren't coming on too, maybe that's the way it is...

The climate control panel will not light up during remote start operation. The controls won't light up until the key is turned on at which time the system defaults to the last active setting. The system seems to be very random in the 28-32 degree range. Sometimes my seat warmer and heat will be on and other times they are not. I guess this is one time that having automatic climate control is a disadvantage. The manual control guys win this battle!

I agree here...the automatic is not so automatic...and is certainly not intuitive

Why is it this way. All the the remote starter i have had in the past let you operate the heater controles. Is there a way to bypass this. I have 2011 F-250. I contacted the dealer about this because i thought it was not working like it should.

I think the biggest factors are if you have the Rapid Supplemental Heat option and where you leave the climate controls. My rig has RSH and the Climate Control setup. If I leave the truck in the non "auto" mode, I will find the truck is cold as a cucumber. If the truck's climate control is set to "auto", the truck is USUALLY warm but depending on outside temperature certain things like the seat heating may or may not be on.

The logic at times appears to be non logical...

As for the remote start and what I see when I get in. The only thing that has lights are around the instrument cluster. The climate control is blank (and I have the Ford LockPick). Worked this way before and after.
