2011 F250/350 Aftermarket Remote Start Questions
Hello, new to the forum.
I'm looking to buy a 2011 F250/350 6.2 in the near future and was wondering if I end up buying one that doesn't have the remote start from the factory, can I just buy an aftermarket remote start system and still get the climate control features that the factory remote start has?
What I'm specifically asking about is from my understanding on the factory remote start, you can turn the truck on remotely and if it's above or below 72 degrees and your climate control system is on "Auto", the cooled/heated seats will come on high and the A/C/heater will also come on. Is there a module that gets installed on the factory remote system that I could tap into with an aftermarket remote system?

Hi,
I have factory remote so I know what you are talking about with the auto features. However, I would think it is advisable to research the specific remote start manufacturer for this information. If the info is unclear contact an installation shop. They should be able to guide you.

Yeah I hear ya but if i can avoid having to remember the night before what temp I need to set up for the next morning then that would be a nice convenience. The good thing is that the capability is there, now I just need to figure out if it is a module I need to add or just tap into an existing wiring harness.
