My brother in-law asked me if i could tell him what transmission he had. He was told its a c4 out of a 60's bronco, but it doesn't look like a normal c4. It has a small horseshoe bend in the cover.
Does this sound familiar? How do you identify a c4 in a older 4x4?
Here is what I have on C4/C6 id info: Kelly hotrod - Ford C4/C6 transmission data and links The C4 in the Bronco was specific to that vehicle with a pan fill design, and don't think they were offered till in the 70"s, can't remember exact year.
a C4 came out in 1964 & a C6 came out in 1966, makes it easy to remember, a C4 pan has a little rounded part where the dipstick goes thru the case, is that what bend you are talking about?
