Serial Number

Does anyone know where the serial number is located on a 1974 Ford F250? I am new here and this is my first posting.

If you've still got the original doors, there should be a metal tag on the drivers side door, just underneath the dcatch. That metal warranty tag should have the VIN and a whole bunch of other codes that can be decoded. Additionally, there should be a sticker on the door frame underneath the door striker that will have the VIN number. The VIN should also be stamped on the engine side of the firewall and, I'm certain, in a bunch of other places on the frame.

Welcome to FTE! There's lots of knowledgeable, friendly folks here. The searchable archives can yield a lot of good information.

Re:

The ram power assist is leaking fluid every time you turn, can you still get the seal kit for one on a 1974 Ford f250? If so where?

Jeff's Bronco Graveyard is a great parts supplier for 1970s trucks and broncos, plus (I think) they're a sponsor of FTE. You may want to look into them:
Early Bronco Restoration Full Size Bronco Restoration Classic Ford Bronco Parts For Sale

You may also be able to find what you're looking for at any number of parts warehouses, including JBG, Blue Oval Truck Parts, or your local parts supplier.

Its stamped on the frame in two places. The visible VIN is stamped on the top right (passenger) side frame rail. It can be anywhere from the radiator support to the firewall but the most common location is about inline with the alternator. Sometimes they are stamped lightly and are hard to find. Use a wire brush or wire wheel to clean the frame.
The second, hidden VIN is also on the top right frame rail. Its under the cab, usually about 8-10 inches behind the front cab mount.

Has anyone converted a ram style power assist to gearbox power steering? If so do you have individual part numbers for each part? I am trying to do low buck conversion.

Paint job

Does anyone know how to do a nice paint job? If so what did you use to get yourself going on parts and examples?

Sorry, can't help you on your last two questions, but the search box is pretty handy and can probably answer any question you may have. Also, starting a new thread may help to increase the number of knowledgeable folks who read your thread.
