All you need to do is order the kit Ed has listed above and install per the instructions minus the IDS programming. The only two parts that you would not use from the kit is the one antenna, the long one, and the antenna jumper wire as those are already installed with the factory remote start.
As always PowerStrokeHD, thanks for the great information! Made this decision a lot easier.
The only problem is you have to use an additional key fob (these keys are big enough). I was going to get one for my friends Focus for Christmas until I realized she would have to use 2 fobs (one for remote start and the other for keyless entry). For that vehicle they should make it so it has both the remote start function and the keyless entry all in one. I know you can do this with aftermarket but didn't see the sense in hacking into a brand new cars wiring when it already has an alarm and keyless entry.
Are you on the road with your truck?? I thought you were driving it back today.
I believe (waiting for partsguyed to reply), that this is for trucks that do not have the factory installed remote start system. The hood switch is integrated into the remote start system to prevent the truck from remote starting with the hood open. If you don't have remote start, you most likely will need to order it.
I am not sure how Ford handles these kind of options when they build their vehicles. We all know that Ford installs the block heater on the engine, but only when you pay for the option do you get the power cord. I would run out and take a picture of my hood switch for you to compare, but the truck is in for paint protection installation.
Post your pictures when you can!
Working on pictures..... We left at 2:00am, fly to Dallas, get truck. Dont get home till 2am next day. Holy Smokes, I thought I was not going to make it home. The Hampton Inn along the way looked tempting a few times. I ordered the kit, so Ill let everybody know how it goes. Proably not a video install like Epic, but Ill try my best.

Drive safe! I ordered the kit as well. I have noticed that this truck takes a really long time to come off of the pegs in 20 degree weather. Since it will be my daily driver and I can see the truck about 700 feet from my office, I'm hoping that I can fire it up a few minutes before I leave the building. Based on PowerStrokeHD's information, it should be fairly straightforward for those of us with the remote start already on the truck.
Good question. Never really thought about it or looked into it. However, considering the bi-directional kit also includes the same antenna and jumper used in the factory system and just adds components I would not be surprised if your existing IKT's continue to work...
Hopefully in a few days I will find that out. I guess a lot depends on the frequencies these remote fobs operate on. If they are the same or they have built in compatibility to accept multiple frequencies, they both should work.
It's obvious that the new fob has a stronger transmitter to get to the claimed distance. And the antennae should help as well. It would be a real shame if the existing fob becomes inoperative.
