the first truck i ever drove was dads 2wd '74 f-250 with a 300-6, creeper first 4-speed and 3.73 gears. this truck would pull anything, get 16 mpg and always fired right up, never used any oil. the most i could ever get out of it was 75 m.p.h. we still have this pickup, i parked it in '91 due to bad cab mounts, the weight of the cab was on the steering coulmn, making it very hard to steer, even with power steering. it would be neat if the 300 would fit in the ranger engine bay, but it is probapbly too long and would weigh too much for the front springs.
yeah...the 300 is a friggin big engine...too big for a ranger...only thing that would fit is a v-6...the v-6 weighs considerably less than an I6 and aint nearly as long...
91 5.0 tbird says 85 but i know it has been well over 100
91 subaru legacy said 140 had it to 135 but let off it would go faster than 140 though that thing was still climbing up there. it would also powerbrake big time smoke everywhere. and don't try to critisize me punk
i had my stock 300-6 with a 4 speed up to 140km/h and still climing, could not tell how fast i got up to because the numbers stop at 140 and the needle just kept on going.
you know what i love is when people stop talking about all of the "speed limiter" mumbo jumbo when SS and a few others want to see evidence or know how the speed limiter was disabeled, and how they reached such high speeds (115-140).
thats my two cents for this thread. show us the evidence
and if you have ever drivin a subaru legacy you would know what they are capable of. i don't know if the newer ones have limiters, but i know my old 91 did not and i really had it 134 before i had to let off.
