I have a 96 F350 CC Stock except for Super Chip. Problem is that at 45 -50 MPH Engine seems to be missing that is the only speed that I notice it. Any ideas.
Is it setting a CEL?Does it just die for no reason? How old is the CPS(Cam Position Sensor). Can someone put it on a scanner for you that reads diesel codes?Does it have the same symptoms without the Super Chip installed?
No CEL, not shutting off, does not seem to affect the way truck runs. Just at 45 - 50 MPH or 1500 RPM it seems to be missing or surging. This happens when running at that speed not under acceleration.
I have the exact same problem but my truck is bone stock, except for a lift and doing the 6637 thing.
Thought it might be a filter issue so changed the fuel and air filters and still had the same problem. Its weird cause as soon as you put a little more throttle to it it goes away and the truck takes off. My idle runs up and down about 50-100 rpm as well could be related.
I myself was wondering if it was a throttle position sensor problem, I know these truck drive by wire without a real throttle so maybe the contact points are getting worn in that spot?
Know this is a thread no no in most places but still haven't been able to figure anything out on this problem and just thought that maybe the topics came really fast and this one got missed by most of the regulars do to the lack of response.
