Overhead display

I am thinking of purchasing and installing the inside overhead roof display in my 04 F250. It did not come with one from the factory and I really like the look of it in addition to what it offers. I also want to add roof lights at the same time, my truck didnt have them from the factory either.

Can anyone offer any pro's / con's of doing this and / or part numbers for any harnesses I will need. I will also need to purchase the cab lights from Ford.

I found a guy on ebay that says he will give the the Harley Davidson inside plastic shell with all the electronic guts and the wiring I need with instruction for under $400, is that a deal or not?

Thank you,

Rob

For the overhead console, I recommend this guy:
Retrofit Ford F150, F250, F350 Overhead Console Kits

I added the F150 version, and only have outside temp and compass. I couldn't be happier with the fit and function. If you want to add the unit that is correct for your truck, and has all the computer functions, you'll have a bit more wiring to do. But I think it is easy enough on '04 and earlier. It gets tough beginning with the '05, and that's why I didn't attempt it.

For the cab lights, I recommend emailing Ed at partsguyed.com. He'll fix you up with exactly the right harness.

Thanks for the link above.

My overhead console went out earlier this Spring... and just figured I would do without it... but now I may start shopping around and see what it will cost and how easy or hard it would be for me to do it myself?

Thanks for the web-link.

For repair, you might just need this thread:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/4...-gone-out.html

It's a soldering issue. Similar to the FICM repair.
