Hey yall, I'm new here. But I saw a 1966 4x4 ford f100 for sale the other day. Great all around truck, I'm thinking about buying it but there's a problem. The last owner put a '76 or '77 frame on the truck making a larger space between the bed and the frame. Is there an easy way to make that space smaller or look smaller?
Sure, You can pull the bed move it forward and bolt it back with new drilled holes.
I would like to caution you before your start, to make certain your states DMV will transfer the title and you are able to get tags.
Sounds like 66 sheetmetal on a 73-79 chassis. The absolute go to VIN is stamped into the top of passenger side chassis rail about where the axle crosses under and again under the cab. Your paper work should reflect that.
