You should get out with the old (points) and in with the new Pertronix electronic ignition

Getting rid of the points is a fine idea, but he really needs to find his problem before doing upgrades. While I think his problem is in the igniton circuit somewhere, still no guarantee.

First solve your problem. Check your points for adjustment. If that's the problem then you can decide if you want to install the Pertronix.

Installation is about as easy as installint points, only easier.

That's it, the ignitor.

But first check your points. Points are easy enough to set and only takes a few minutes.

well i went ahead and replaced the fuel pump, wasnt too hard to do just getting to the bolts was a real pain. went o try and start it heard a weird sound but no start, next ill be checking the points.
