Thanks to my new found friend Rich, who was the most fair and knowledgeable mechanic. Dealt with my dumb questions, and still was able to be fast on the wrench and keep his productivity up. Fastest R&R of a turbo I've ever seen. Great guy to know, when you (speaking of me) don't know much about diesel engines... and your warranty is up!!!

Hey --- be sure the guy introduce himself to us on here so we put him in the rolodex of good diesel guys available in your area.

Will do.
He's not much of a "forum" guy, but I've sent him the link to this thread. If he signs in, he can introduce himself and post up. Or, if he txts me "it's okay"... I can do it for him.

Where is this (virtual) rolodex?
There isn't one.. but some of us keep the info --- that is why he should sign up, and put his info (email etc) on his profile... so we have it.
Might be a great item to add to ea. of the state chapters.Get folks more invloved on their local level..Just thinking...
Yup, that would reduce the number of entries that you have to wade through to get to your area's techs.
By the way, I'm still trying to join my local chapter, I've emailed the leader (jarod17) twice since before the holidays. I'm still waiting for him to get back to me, either deep snow or long holidays!

Great idea... with a reference, or the ability to reference in the tech notes to (for a good mechanic on the 6.0PSD, go see... so and so), pointing a link to the chapter and/or post with the names of individuals or businesses.
Click on the "join chapter" link and the chapter leader will be sent a join request notification
I would encourage others to join their local chapters also. It can be a valuable resource for local information that's not always readily available in the tech forums, and the more people that get involved the better it will become.

Also sent a followup email, still waiting!
I received your join request and have been waiting for active participation. I have had so many people join in the past and most of them have never even said "hi." So I have implemented participation requirements and generally sit on a request for a couple months.
I have not received any email. I blame yahoo for this. They have a bad habit of holding email before delivery. Never more than a few days though. I think it is time to change my email provider.
The Rolodex idea is a good one. I am going to start working on a format for a sticky for the Nevada chapter. Unless someone has one already that they would like to share.

Yahoo mail is dying on the vine... gmail is the way to go.
So many newbies come to the 6.0 with tales of woe... and we just wish they can be directed to a competent tech.
In the hands of a skilled and competent tech... the 6.0 is a gem.

I guess I miss-understood how this worked. I have been active on the 6.0 forum but thought I need to be a member to post on the local forum. I can fix that!
