I have not been able to work on this issue with my truck yet, I hope to do so ASAP though, does anyone know of a O-Ring or Gasket kits for these fuel issues, I want to try that approach first before taking it in.
Okay, I've just replaced the fuel filters and oil at the same time, both went real smooth, the truck is able to start now with no issues, I'm not too sure if I have fixed my fuel leak or not, are there any fittings that I should check or tighten? I've seen other replies on this post talking about "Banjo bolt with 2 copper crush washers", "gold plug in the back of the head", it looked like the valley had fuel in it but underneath the vehicle it seemed pretty wet. Ideas, suggestions??
This is my first diesel vehicle so sorry for the dumb questions, just trying to resolve my leak.
Okay, so I found a leak, hopefully it's "the" leak. I went out and started the truck up to see if I could spot where the leak was coming from, I did, it's a constant drip coming from below the secondary fuel filter, I had a picture of it but I'm apparently not allowed to add attachments or insert photos, there are 2 torx bolts almost parallel with each other and 1 bigger hex bolt below and to the left of the 2 torx, can this just be tightened or is there a gasket in there that should be replaced?
If you are refering to this spot:Page 30: Fuel Supply System then there are 4 torx and a fuel line to deal with. You might try GENTLY tightening them up but you're probably going to need a new gasket that I'm not sure is available without the upgraded spring kit anymore. Be very aware that it's EASY to crack the housing if you over tighten those screws.
I just replaced mine a couple of weeks ago not that big of a deal $90 bucks for the kit just removed the air filter housing and the uper radator hose and toke the plate off and replaced all the goodes and there was directions in side the pack of goodes

That's exactly what it is, I guess it's the fuel regulator, you're right, there are 4 torx, I only saw the 2 because the angle I was viewing it from I only saw 2. I removed the air filter housing this evening to see if I could get to the torx, I was able to try and tighten (gently) all 4 torx, they seemed pretty tight.

It seemed pretty easy to get to, I'd like to fix this tomorrow. I've got Advance Auto and AutoZone near me, hopefully one of them will have what I need. Do you just ask for a fuel regulator gasket kit??

Good luck with that. I'm quite sure that's a dealer item but if you find them at an autoparts store PLEASE post back.
dealer only and make shure they give you the up dated one with the blue spring
Do you happen to know the part number? I just got back from the dealer and I got just a gasket/o-ring (P/N-3C3Z*9C065*AA), looks kinda like a thermometer and cost only $4.82, I asked him if there was anything else that would go with it or that would need to be replaced during, he said there was another kit but it only had other gaskets/washers and was about $45.
Here's a link from another forum to see the exploded view: CLICK ME - Post #23, he refers to it as a key hole gasket, it torwards the bottom of the exploded view, the guy circled the reference #.
Here's another post I found where npccpartsman was talking about it as well: CLICK ME - his post was #14

Didn't have the gasket part # in the common parts library but it's there now--Thanks!!!

I guess I'm gonna have to ask a stupid question, where is the "common parts library"??? I've looked in the tech folder and found nothing, I've done a search for "common parts" of the entire 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel forum, I came up with a post where bismic was stating that he was starting a common parts list but I didn't see it in there either (ClickMe), he talked about the "fuel pressure regulator kit" in post #7 but no p/n, bismic even shows pictures of the fuel pressure regulator parts on his profile page but no p/n's
I found the p/n elsewhere though (3C3Z*9T517*AG), might be nice to sticky the common parts library somewhere easy to find, and if it is and I missed it, well then.....DOH!!! on my part.
LOL--it's a parts list I keep on my computer of commonly used repair parts for 6.0 engines. It's a lot easier to copy and paste vs. typing the numbers out.

Cool, that's a good idea, I should start that as well, better to start now than to get several years down the road and think why didn't I do that.
Just so we're clear and so your parts list is correct:
3C3Z*9C065*AA - is just the "key hole" o-ring by itself
3C3Z*9T517*AG - is for the fuel pressure regulator kit (which is what I need to pick up)
Well I went the cheap way and only replaced the O ring on the regulator cover. This did fix the leak. While doing it I had pulled the EGR intake tube off ( I hope that is what it is called) and did see a tiny bit of oil inside the tube. Is this a problem or normal??
