Code 636
-My temp gauge is no longer working (zeros out when turn on the key).
-My ebrake and abs lights are now staying on.
-Truck is running a bit rough, staggers after going into overdrive at about speeds of 40-50.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Computer doesn't use the dash mounted temp gauge, has its own sensor. The fact it doesn't work may be some kind "cause and effect" but little early to say at this point.
Brake/abs light might be a simple connection issue at the connector under the brake fluid reservoir, might be tell tail sign of a bigger problem.
Gonna need more to go on then though, post the specifics about your truck.
1. Codes listed above (check engine light will flash on a few seconds then go off)
2. Truck staggers a bit after going into overdrive at about 40-50 mph, unless I get into it enough to make it down shift gears. Seems to be running rich and getting horrible mileage. Then after warmup, in gear will stagger a bit when getting going from a stop sign, etc. Smooths out on the highway and higher rpms.
3. Truck seems to run smooth on the highway, except kinda slowly switches into overdrive (not so much a slip though). Takes a bit.
4. Temp gauge is not working, zeros out to cold when key is turned on.
5. Front tank is not working. Have to siphon gas every few days so it doesn't overflow.
Thought probs 2 & 3 may be some what related. Someone said it could be my Throttle Position Sensor. Tried unplugging what I think is the sensor, doesn't have the shifting problem, but still hesitates round 40-50 mph after going into overdrive. And have to keep it running at a stop.
Thanks for the feedback.
