I was talking with a friend today about a VW TDI Jetta that he just bought and he said that his injectors put fuel into the cylinder at 27,000 psi. That sounds outragous to me and it got me wondering what our trucks did (stock injectors/stock motor). I searched the forum but didn't come up with a #. Anyone know what that pressure would be?
You can calculate it by multiplying your ICP by the intensifier piston ratio in your injector.
Standard stock A code injectors have a IP ratio of 7:1, so in your tunes if they call for a max of 3100psi for example, at 3100psi ICP you will have 21,700psi of injection pressure.
B code injectors have an IP ratio of 6:1. So the 3100psi ICP will equal 18,600psi injection pressure.
Hybrid injectors have a IP ratio of 5:1. So at the same 3100psi ICP, it will be 15,500psi injection pressure.
