I have a 95 f150 4.9l and today it smelled like it was running hot. It didn't over heat but I could smell it, raised the hood and had water blowing out from under the exhaust headers and could hear it hissing. Any ideas before I tear into it as to what to look for? This is my 1st 300 and I like the motor and the truck, 300 ci - 5 sp manual tranny. Picked it up for 1500 about two months ago. It has a very straight and rust free body and has tons of potential so it's worth the effort and money to fix.. Best part is no payment!!! Would appreciate any input..
only thing on that side are freeze plugs, in the side of the block. there's 1 under the starter too.check the heater hoses and core, could be running from somewhere else, and dripping there.
Isnt the temp sensor on the same side as the freeze plugs as well?Could be coming from there. Its towards the end, on the side of the block(#6 cyl) on mine.
