has anyone put seafoam in the oil??? cuz i put that stuff in the oil and made my oil white, dnt think its water cuz the water level on the radiator is fine and plus the oil dnt smell like coolant, kinda smells like the sea foam, could that be it
if i remember you are supposed to put it in your old oil run it for 20 minutes and then change it out for fresh oil .. i dont think its supposed to be run full time after you dump it in because its a detergent, i have however had EXCELLENT results from filling my fuel filter with it i gained considerable mpg
i've read where some have let the seafoam in the oil for a day or two, but i dont think i would let one of there engines go for more than what the directions say b/c of how violent it is inside the case
well the engine is a 1987 6.9 with an Allison at545, i got it from a bus and installed it on my 77 F250, i took off the oil pan and there was only oil, there wasnt any water residue, so i put shell rotella 15 40, and put the whole can of seafoam and ran th diesel for 30 min, the next day i saw the oilo freaken thick milky white, the radiator water was the same level, what do you guys think?????
my opinion, change the oil, run it again w/o the foam and see what kind of results you get then. the foam may do that to it as part of its cleaning process...???
ok, hope its that, it may take more than two oil changes to remove all of that white residue, if water was leaking through in the oil pan, would it be thick and milky??? or would the water would of came out of the drain plug first right??
I dont know if this link will work but if it doesn't google seafoam and check out their video for seafoam in diesel. At the end it says use the seafoam in the oil for one hour the before change. Hope this helps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PbQR...layer_embedded
