Does the Ford spout fit better than the BlueDEF spouts?
The first few 2.5 gal BlueDEF jug spouts were great.
The last several jugs I can't get them to tighten down without the threads giving out and it leaks.
At least the last four I used had this issue.
I over filled mine once.
You would have though my truck was on fire if you saw me running to my garage for several rags.
I was 3/4 the way throught the 2.5 gal jug after the computer said "less than half" which has always taken a 2.5 gal prior and since.
IDK what the computer was thinking.
I only fill in a quiet place now so I can listen.
The Ford spout seals against the DEF fill tube so when the DEF tank is full it won't overflow/overfill. You can lower the DEF bottle down with the spout in place and the DEF in the filler neck drains back into the container.
If you had my truck before it was "fixed" you would be running your business from the waiting room in the service department at your dealer.
For the sake of argument, suppose you had to "unfix" your truck and put it back to stock. Is whatever you did reversible and how long do you reckon it would take?
The dark side siren is singing to me and I feel drawn to her.
It is all relatively easily reversed as long as you take care in the removal of the DPF and don't destroy anything. I know of a 2011 that was recently traded in on a 2012 and it spent the last year tuned with no emissions gear underneath, but it was all reinstalled and returned to stock before the trade. The only way you could tell any different was some of the factory bolts had been replaced by regular hex bolts. Otherwise nobody was the wiser.
Yes that is correct. It would likely take me the better part of a day to "unfix" it. I have H&S Black Maxx tuner, doc/dpf/urea delete and egr delete. I would never go back though. My truck is already flagged as no warranty and I am just fine with that as it now runs. Warranty does me no good when my truck is not running. Although my dealer did just do me a water pump on warranty so who knows???
I didn't even keep the egr cooler, it went in the dump. I only kept the pipe in case somone (or someone here) needs it, like if they broke theirs off road or something. I have no use for it. I have put some money in this truck and will keep it for a long time. It's a daily driver now but will become a second vehicle some day.
They say the tuners can return to stock and not leave a trace but I believe that if ford looks at the software close enough they can find it. The trade in scenario above likely no problem. But if you went in with a blown up motor they may dig a bit deeper.

Yeah, I hear you. I'm not overly concerned with the warranty or trade-in, it's the smog test every 2 years. Just need to be sure I can put it back together for that bit of business.
