I can tell you the akebono's are great. They aren't cheap though, not terrible expensive, just not cheap.

I had great luck with the Ceramix pads from Napa. My shop put them on my 99 Explorer about 2 years ago (traded in on the FX4) and those pads put off very little dust, and what dust they did put off was greyish and not nearly as difficult to clean.
