Ok, So let me get this straight.

I want Mass Air in my truck. Its a '90 f-250 with an EFI 351W. I have been pouring over posts on the subject and half go the aftermarket route, a quarter go the reprogram route and the last bit head to the junk yard. So this is what I have gathered that I will need for a MAF conversion. Im going the junkyard route because its cheaper and I know Ive seen a few MAF trucks out there in previous travels. First is to find the computer. I know it cant have an electronic controller for the tranny so E4OD and AODE trucks are out. I have read that a 5.0L computer will run a 5.8. Not sure if its true but opens up a little farther the window. After that, there is a need to pull the engine wireing harness to add a control lead to each individual injector to the computer at their pin locations. Then run leads for the MAF sensor itself. The next thing of course you need is an airtube that has the MAF sensor in it and the Air box that goes with it. So if all my reading is to be beleived, I need to find the computer, sensor and air box and tube; rewire the injectors, repin the computers connector, install the airbox and tube and turn the key. Is that really all there is. Sounds a little time consuming but relatively straight forward. I definently want to do this before any other upgrades. Heavy cams ahead as well as heads and headers. Maybe a stroker build over the winter? What say ye?

Yes, that's it, also the mass air used 2 O2 sensors, you can just connect both O2 wires to the single sensor though, if you want, & don't forget to disconnect the vacuum line to the MAP sensor.

If your going to build the motor the way you say you are , you might want to get an aftermarket air meter , sounds like you will need bigger injectors & a bigger meter , more air & fuel....something like pro m.....Lew
