intrmittent overboosting
I know this topic has been run into the ground but I don't know what my next step is. I have a 2003 f-250. the engine is from a 2006. The turbo and the exhaust manifolds are original to the truck. the truck will make too much boost and have a slight loss of power. it is not all the time. it comes and goes. it has head studs, new ford injectors, new HPOP, EGR has been deleted. I took the turbo off and had Flynn's Shop (local ford diesel experts) clean and polish the inside. reinstalled and the problem remained. His diagnostic computer showed the MAF/IAT sensor not functioning properly. I replaced the plug for the MAF as it was showing signs of wear. no change. I cleaned the MAF. no change. I replaced the MAF. no change. I replaced the EBP sensor and tube. No change. I replaced the MAP sensor and vacuum tube. no change. All of the air intake and charged air tubes are in good shape and tightened properly. I am just looking for a next step. I will take it to the shop if I need to but I like to wrench on it myself. sorry for the long post and thank you for reading.

The very next step is to get some gauges, such as Scan Gauge II, Torque App, or Dashboss. You will need to be able to read some live data from your OBDII port.
These trucks will make a fat wallet skinny if you are not careful, so I would buy the gauges before buying anymore parts...
