When I got into my truck this morning I heard an odd pop and creaking sound from the rear drivers side. I just crawled under it a minute ago and found that my rear shackle is rusted out and broken.
What are the best steps to follow to take this out and replace. It looks fairly simple to do.
Is this a simple switch out of parts?
What are the complications I will most likely run into?
I was just using the search and couldn't find anything good.
I should be able to drill those rivets out.... Right?
I have never drilled them myself but I don't see why not. I would step drill them to a point then just hog off the head of the rivet. If you have a rear tank be careful to not poke a hole in the tank. I have just burned all mine off with the torch in the past.
