I am looking at purchasing a Powertrax locker but i have not come across any forums where someone has put one in a dana 60 with 2wd. The only ones i have read have been put in 4x4s with 36" tires. I need to know if a Powertrax locker will be good for my 2wd with 235s. I dont go offroading, i just want some more traction and a more epic burnout. So does anyone use one on their 2wd?
Sorry, i was being rushed when i posted it. I just need to know if anyone has experience using a Powertrax locker in a 2wd for just normal street use and the occasional burnout.
i put one in my 95 caprice and and it worked great but it made the car real squirly wet or icy or dry .it made all kinds of noises so i would not use it for any daily driver . oh yes you can do burnout really good as with sideways slides .
ARB or Auburn ECTED get my vote, had them both in the jeep, ARB in the front, ECTED is limited slip and was very street friendly. Yes I had 36" Swamper IROK's! I have a friend the has a jeep tj with 60's front and rear with ARB's and no issues on the street, he's sittin' on forties!
Other than the handling characteristics of the powertax it's a great piece of equipment (had the lockrights in my cj, never drove it on the road in the winter but in good weather it handled ok) I never broke one but broke just about everytnhing else on that jeep...lol.
