Header question
I have a 1979 f-150 4x4 with a 300 6 in it... I'm looking to buy a header to put on it after I finish my build... I've noticed that a bunch of the major manufacturers say their headers will not work with 4wd... talked to clifford, they told me that their headers will work with no problems due to slightly shorter tubes (supposedly for cross member clearance). However, I've heard a lot about clifford here, not all of it good...
Does anyone out there have experience with this matter?

Thats what my truck has on it (They where on it when I got it), and they leak all the way at the back.

If you're interested, I have a set of steel headers on one of mine that I have to remove due to emissions. Low miles, are in great shape, and are the expensive kind that don't leak like the others. They seem to seal up nicely and fit well. PM me if you're interested.

just my .02, but use a good quality header gasket, not an exhaust manifold gasket, and invest in the stage 8 locking header bolts and you'll prevent a lot of the leaking problems.
The efi manifolds are less prone to leaking because they're cast iron, same as the head, and therfore expand and contract at the same rate, which will help prevent leaking.
