I have a 91 7.3, and looks are deceiving, the line you are talking about actually runs under the CDR valve and connects to the rear injector on the passenger side.

Where does the return line from the IP go.....if yours has the steel return line to the back, then someone may have used an incorrect plastic fitting and just plugged one side.

His truck maybe different that mine even though we have the same engine 1 year apart, I do have the steel line down the D-side of the block but there are no ports on the front side for a return line to connect. On the left bank, pass side, return from the fuel filter to front injector then connecting all to the back then crosses over running under the CDR to the steel return line. On the right bank, D-side, connects all four injectors to the steel return line at the rear. there is no connection anywhere for return lines to the IP, or is there the appearance that any are blocked off.

I have noticed many small differences between my engine and others, i.e. the fuel heater pictured on this forum looks nothing like the fuel heater I have, totally different style, yet the connection (where the o-rings are located) at the top of the filter housing is the same. But yes it is a 7.3 IDI/NA even Ford agrees.

If the blocked off line you are referring to is front/driverside, then they put a tee on that injector and had to block it off. On my truck that injectors return line cap only has one hose barb for the return line, if you plan on replacing that one you will need to go to ford to get it. The return line kits i have seen do not have a single outlet, I just replaced all my return lines and had to reuse that cap. Also on the fuel filter and on the steel return line where the rubber hoses connect to the metal hose barbs, I had to use adjustable hose clamps not the ones that came with the return line kit. The hose provided was a little to big and began leaking under pressure at those points, once I used the other hose clamps the leaking stopped.
