tranny woes

my friend has an 05 f150 fx4 and has recently burned out his 2nd tranny. he is wondering if there is some bulletproof parts he can rebuild his tranny with to help avoiding another rebuild. about what would it cost to build a bulletproof tranny and what are good upgrades need for it?

how's your friend using his truck that he has gone through two trannys already? I always thought the 4spd tranny in the 04-08 trucks was pretty indestructable in stock form.
