hey, im kinda new on here, but mostly just never post. My 74 f100 has a dana 21, and i havent been able to find much info on this transfer case. This is the single speed case if youre not familiar with it. the previous owner said that its a bulletproof indestructible t-case, but he also said the the motor had a fresh rebuild on it, so i cant know what to think. thanks
No, that is not a bulletproof t-case. They were stuck in light apps. Typically, only the np-205 is considered "bulletproof" (although the Dana 24 is just as stout). But as long as its working well why sweat it?
I had one of those Dana 21s in my 74 half ton. I never had an ounce worth of trouble with it, although finding rebuild kits will prove to be a challenge for you. Also, it's kind of a pain when it comes to swapping due to the weird input shaft (and output on the NP435 it's hooked to). Anyhoo, there's the D21.....
