Rear Lighting Problem

For some reason my rear driver turn signal and brake light bulb will not work. I pulled the bulb that was not working out only to discover that the bulb was not burnt-out. I tried replacing it with a new one anyway, again no success. I pulled the fuses out and checked them as well; everything seems to be in working order. Where do I start next?

You need to check to see if they're getting voltage. Use a handheld meter to check for power. Could also be a bad connector into the taillight assembly.

if there is no power look under the truck near the spare tire. the wire harness for the rear lights split there. perhaps something grabbed it and pulled it apart, or the connection corroded and needs to be repaired
