Okay guys I'm finally tearing into that timing belt, first problem I ran into is how to get that idler pulley bracket out of the way to get off the belt cover and out of the way.I already took off three long bolts that I can see and it still won't budge,do I have to take out the power steering pump also? If so how does that pulley come off because the mounting bolts back right into the pulley before coming out.Its a 2000 2.5 Lt. engine
Alot of good info there but doesn't explain how to remove that compressor bracket, its the only thing in the way of getting that cover off,the more I research the power steering thing it looks like its a special tool deal,,,wonder if backing off the mounting bolts evenly would do the trick without damaging the pulley?
Found the stud it is behind the pump and had to get a 13 mill wrench to loosen it,bracket is now loose finally. Now I'm trying to figure out the tensioner, the spring bolt is loose but not all the way out and so is the adjusting bolt, how do i move it it now
