and ive got the t/c and the mid driveline so nothing but the MLPS, Solenoid body, and torque converter is needed

Oreo brought up a interesting point. I'll be able to reuse my transfer case (1356, I think), right? That thing is practicably brand new.

Everything I'm finding indicates the 1356 TC was used right up to the end of the bodystyle in 97 so you should be fine.

a few recommendations.
if you do find a '95-97 trans it already has the high volume pump.
if you find an older E40D,hit ebay and search for the high volume trans pump.also consider the viton front pump seal.
consider a temp gauge,external filter and cooler,and a shift kit.
now is the perfect time for these little basics.

Nah, it's a 97 so has the better pump. Being a reman from Ford, I think it'd have the better parts in it. I have a temp gauge and cooler already. I had a inline filter, it sucked and caused hi temps in the old trans. I'll just be using the normal pan filter. I might add a shift kit later on down the road. For now, I want the truck back on the road before winter hits.

Actually, I SHOULD be going to pick the trans up tonight.
