good thing your front ends all back together.
now ya need a plow?
wheres all the videos at? haha went out this am and it was 15, yeah thats cold for here!! that was the coldest temp my truck has started in and vroom, it was perfect. Maybe is the two cycle oil or atf i have in my veins?!?! hahaha
upper 30's here, and it took mine 5-6 seconds this morning! dang.
time to inspect things before it gets colder.
i seem to have lost my "power stroke" rattle at startup.i pressed to the floor, released and then cranked too.hmm.
my fuel mileage seems to have gotten worse too.though with this last job,i can't really tell, because i used the truck as a tool ALOT,twitching trees up a bank in 4wd low......and a lot of 'em.still i think my timing has retarded or something.
now i found evidence of a plow being on this truck while i was hooking up my push plates, this has changed my mined about waiting until 100k to change them too,as now i know, it has more hours than just driving miles.
ahhh i found my problem.
two actually.the first, because im thinking "mechanical" i stepped down on the skinny "before" turning the key forward! DOH!
now i see how it works.it's electrical.so i need to step down "after"
i turn the key forward to set the advance and high idle.
lol i feel like a dummy.
hey,it's my first winter with an IDI hahaha.
so anyway, now that i looked at that, and see how it works,i went to check the fuel filter.
i hit the drain.......and not a drop! i just got home like what,a couple hrs ago.
so my e-pump is completely priming me.the WTS time, isn't long enough to prime the whole system.
man.it looks high and dry everywhere too.
thank goodness for the e-pump or id never be starting lol.
now to figure out where im leaking air.....oh joy.a check valve right before filter would hold fuel at least this far.i knew i should have tossed one in there.
all glow plugs check ok via test light still.
dang these diesel/air leaking idi's.
edit,
hey shouldn't there be enough fuel in the IP still causing me to have a start, stall and a need to restart symptom actually?hmm.interesting.
i guess the extreme cold to hot engine temps this time of year like to play with dried out O-rings,hoses etc so problems pop up.
double edit,
nope.i see.im not getting the "start/stall" because my check valve after the filter to the ip must be bad.
things are becoming clear now.
i need to start with a tear down of my fuel filter housing.
good thing your front ends all back together.
now ya need a plow?
yea i need to find one now, it was sleeting here for awhile today, im expecting ice, its been raining all day and hovering around the 33 degree mark. im looking for a plow now, how you like your meyer?
