I have a 1978 ford f250 351m 4x4.My question is their any differnce in wiring between a 1977 and a 1978 wiring. I am wanting to get P/N 10118 painless wiring kit.but it only covers 1967 to 1977 models.so if somebody could help me on this it would be great. What does the 78 models have that the rest of them dont.
well i know alot of the switches will need to be swapt out.I am woundering if the switches that are coming with the harness will fit in the slots of the switches i got in their now.
There are some differences, some being that neutral safety switch, steering column wiring, and also if you have gauges or idiot lights. Just FYI, before you buy the painless harness for that much, give this guy a call at Centech.
I bought mine through there and I'm very happy. Not only is it a little cheaper, but the guy will make up the connections to what you need. Like mine, I used a one wire alternator, a 79 steering column and the gauge cluster and everything he sent was perfect. It will take just a bit longer to get the harness because the guy has to make up the kit, but I can't be happier.
