ok i kinda had a prob with a down pipe to day forgot to put it in when doing trany swap tryed to get it a part and was not going as pland, so after i beat the hell out of it and called it every thing i could think of i said the heck with it, it looked homeaid and had a few holes in some weild, so what should i go back with?? from what i can tell a dimond eye looks good, i want some thing that will last and not 2 bad going on thanks guys!
the down pipe i had was 3in it was i 2 pice , but looked like some one took a old down pipe cut elbow off by thr turbo and put it on another down pipe, then the upper pice was in the lower pice like 6 in and wouldn come apart so i beat it up! lol so a 2 pice like dimond eye should go back smoth, right??
I got the 3-4 inch from tymar. I'm pretty sure the box said diamond eye on it. I like that guy. It was here in two days and the price was the best I could find.
The prev owner installed the 3" dp on my truck, loosed the pass side cab mounts and jacked cab up, said it went right in no problems, dont know if he had to massage the firewall or not. Sounds like a good trick to try.

Yes, thats another trick people are doing as well..
I paid 99$ for my MBRP....And it looks homemade. Which is prob what you had in there.
i seen clay had a dimond eye 3 in its the cheepest iv seen. so is the truck done man??? myn is all but the down pipe fix, and slave cylinder. got it to where dp will work but it looks like crap!
But I had a slight rattle when the truck was in reverse, so I added a 1/4" spacer between the cab and cab mount bushing.
No more rattle and the body lines from the cab to bed were back in line with each other.
So I think the cab mount bushings were getting tired and the spacer put it back to where it belonged.
Now I want to do the drivers side since it is off a little also.
About five years ago I saw on the classifieds a 'Bassani Xhaust' complete system for sale. I bought the entire setup from the guy, he had it on his truck and wanted another brand for some reason. He promised me it was a direct bolt on. I got several boxes in the mail and put it on, a direct bolt on. Problem was, it had a 3 1/2" DP!! I didn think there was any way in he!! I was going to get that in there. I layed under the truck for a half day in a foot of snow putting that thing in. I used a porta power with blocks of wood against the trans and engine and what seemed like a dozen times keep trying to get it in there. I literally caved the firewall in but its in there. Every once in awhile I have to adjust it and get it to stop rattling. Anybody hear of Bassani Xhaust systems?? At the time I never had and I've haven't heard of one since.
