I have a 2011 F350 dually and tow a 5th wheel camping trailer. If I get heavy in the foot when starting from a dead stop the truck shutters. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know of a fix?

I had the same problem and the dealer changed the spacer block angle on the rear axle to change driveshaft angle . It was only one degree but it worked for me
I too have an '11 F-350 DRW CC. I love that truck!!! But, the shaking or chattering in the rear dif when I take off with my 18K toy hauler has me a little bit concerned. When I took it to the selling dealer with the fiver in tow, their first response was "it's the driveline angle." Well, after checking the latest and greatest TSP, it said I needed a new third member. So we ordered such a beast and when they installed it, nothing had changed, back to the dealer for plan B.
While they had my baby in the shop they performed the "upgrade", more on that later. We're still waiting to see what Ford's next idea is on the rear dif.
What exactly did they replace as the "third member"? The 10.5 Sterling isn't a 3rd member style differential like a Ford 9" is. Also, do you have the ELD option?
They swapped the rear dif pumpkin. Couldn't tell ya the specifics. Ford said the clutches in the limited slip in the Dana rear-end would have to be replaced. Supposedly, they put a Ford rear-end under it. End result was the problem is still there.
I had the same issue on my '08 I had. I always thought it was a reasonable condition considering how much power was being placed on the drive line vs. what I was trying to move. These engines bring on a LOT of torque very quickly and the energy of the torque has nowhere to go for a second or two, seems logical to have the torque converter/driveshaft/rear diff/axle complain a bit about the strain.

Boy the turkey must have had it's way with me last night! I just noticed that this is a dually not a SRW. It's a Dana 80 and not a 10.5, so no ELD but still no 3rd member.
Typically on a SRW truck the shutter on takeoff is caused by axle wrap, but that's not usually a factor with the heavier spring pack/ shorter spacer block on a DRW. If indeed this issue is a result of axle wrap, nothing short of a set of traction bars is going to make it fully go away. Hopefully your dealer figures it out and gets you straight. I know how annoying it can be.
I appreciate your analysis of the problem. It's great being able to visit with people other than the techs at the dealership. Not saying they don't know what they're talking about, but, you know they are not telling you everything up front.
When I got my baby home from the evil dealership, I looked er over pretty good. It appeared to me there was a new third member under there. I also examined the spring mounts and u-bolts, as I hooking up the toy-hauler and didn't want any whoops-a-daisies. I noticed when they pulled the wheels off the right side, they didn't get my valve stems lined up with each other. So, back to shop. Yea, I could have fixed it but, shouldn't have to, right?
Anyway, maybe when I get home from Minn. we can get togeher and figure out plan B.
I had the same problem in my 06....I never did fix it for some reason..I just didn't accelerate fast. But as ktp said..I believe it to be the pinion angle or the driveline is not straight..either way it sounds like something is causing the u joints to be in a bind.
They can but unless its significant enough the pcm wont log it. The term the computer logs it into is "freeze frame data" but usually for it to get into freeze frame it will end up setting a SES light.
Can the techs look at the computer to see if it was trans slip?
This has my curiosity, especially since I have a CC DRW coming and my toy hauler is about 18K
Im of the opinion it's in the driveline angle. Jake, my service mgr., suggested this was the culprit from day one, but he had to go with Ford's recommendation to swap the pumpkin. I'm sure they'll figure it out.
I wouldn't worry about your upcoming arrival, unless it's UPS brown. LOL.
I wonder if a set of airbags or overload spring packs would help if its a driveline angle problem? I had a truck with 2" lift blocks in the rear and I had a shudder problem so I had to put in a driveline bearing spacer to fix the angle. To me it would make sense if you have problems lifting it 2" then you would have problems lowering 2" or more inches (lowering ofcourse being from the the pin weight).
Also, do people with the 450s and 4.30 gears have the same problem?
