I wonder if a set of airbags or overload spring packs would help if its a driveline angle problem? I had a truck with 2" lift blocks in the rear and I had a shudder problem so I had to put in a driveline bearing spacer to fix the angle. To me it would make sense if you have problems lifting it 2" then you would have problems lowering 2" or more inches (lowering ofcourse being from the the pin weight).
Also, do people with the 450s and 4.30 gears have the same problem?
I'm catchin what you're throwin. Jake did measure the driveline angle with 5er hooked up and un hooked. He wrote down all the angles, did the math and said it wasn't that far off.
Don't kno about the heavier haulers. I do kno that with my 5er hooked up, the truck is still not sitin on the overloads.
I have a 450 4.30 gear 2011. No issues and my trailer weighs in at 21,600 loaded with 3,330 pin weight. 48" fifth wheel. I have also towed a 52' quad axle as well, no issues.
The only time if I have ever noticed anything is when the truck is jack-knifed say at at parking lot taking off can create a shutter but I think this is in the limited slip clutch packs being new.
My truck has 9,200 miles

That is one huge 5er!! I would hate to be a truck builder and stay ahead of all of us and our toys.
My '10 F350 DRW 4x4 shudders just like this when loaded with my 14k 5er. My dealer searched for possible TSB's on the subject before attempting to repair. I told them that a lot of you guys had the same problem and it wasn't just limited to my year. The tech's answer after our 'discussion' was "must be axle wrap". Nothing done on this so far as I want to make sure that is the problem before they go throwing parts at it.
So this begs the question, does ford change the pinion angle from the factory for the SRW and DRW 350s? They have ~2" blocks in the DRW, and ~4" blocks in the SRW. I wonder which has more shuddering problems.
BTW, that is one huge, and I mean Huge camper.....Makes my 35'er look like a popup.
OK I know what trailer I want now! I'll double check but Im pretty sure when I measured my rear blocks they were 3 5/8", same as what someone said there 350 SRW had. My thiking on gears is won't the 3.73's try and put the power to the ground faster then the slower 4.30's? Therefore more maybe more of a tendency for axle wrap?

OMG!! That trailer is the biggest one I have ever seen!!!!
Is that quad axle a standard floor plan or custom ordered? I'm not seeing any floor plans that big listed!
They way it worked was that Weekend Warrior would build for friends or people whom Mark (the old owner) knew. WW would build you a 5' or 10' over. So the floor plan is a CL 4005 with 10' over the pic is of a friends my trailer is 5' over with makes is about 48'6" long.
I know a couple of a few 5 overs and 10 overs for sale.
For the folks that go to the desert we need the cargo space dune car is 17' a couple of quads and a rhino all need to get to the desert. This is the only way.
Here is a pic of my car and my 48 first time with the new truck back in June.
