sorry meant camshaft not the ever elusive crankshaft and i dont really want to hear that it could be a broken camshaft either> ive started drinking now so please reply before i start making even less sense
If the oil pump locked up it will shear the roll pin holding the distributor gear on . With that pin being sheared there is no connection to turn the distributor shaft and no rotor turn . No rotor turn then no spark .
I would look down the open distributor hole and watch the gear ( which is the camshaft ) to see if it turns while cranking the starter. If it does not turn you probably have some plastic teeth worn off the cam sprocket and are going to need a new timing chain set. Chain very seldom ever break but the sprocket teeth do fail then the chain slips.
But don't rule out that flux capacitor.
