What Now Part Deuce
Nothing to report. The dealer has not contacted me, and I have not had an opportunity to contact him while being out of town. If I contacted him, there still is not much I could do because I am not at my computer to update everyone. The medical emergency will be ongoing. I will be in and out of town for the next couple of weeks, so I may get a little slack in posting but will do my best. The family member started chemo yesterday and the prognosis is good. I will try to call the dealer while on the road Monday, and will try to update the thread on Wednesday, when I return home. Thank you for time and postings. Have a Happy Thanksgiving Ford family! And there's nothing to tell! Sorry for being a smart alec. I called the dealer on Monday, they had not had a chance to look at my truck yet! Yes, it had been sitting there for a week, and ain't nobody done nothin'! Well I have been known around these parts to be a bit of an ********* if I feel that I have been patient and am just getting the run around. So I informed the gentleman? that I was a little bit displeased with his poor performance, and that if he did not have time to work on my truck I'd be more than glad to TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE WHERE I CAN FEEL APPRECIATED FOR SPENDING MY HARD EARNED MONEY! He then assured me they would get to it that day. They got to it and found it to be running great. Cleared all codes, with no new codes. I did not get back to town until today, they drove it again with no issues. I drove it home, no issues. So the component that I replaced, the ignition module located on the driver side fender under the hood, behind the wheel well and situated in an aluminum heat sink must have been the culprit. (And to be fair to the dealer, he did not charge me for looking into the problem. So my respect inched up a notch.) To replace this module, you will need a special tool called an ignition module tool (darn that's clever). The two screws that hold the module to the heat sink are 7/32". I have more tools than my local Sears store and I could not remove these screws without the tool. No socket would fit due to the barrel size of the socket versus the size of the hole the screw was in. Yeah I tried needle nose, no go. I did not try long cause I don't like blood blisters on my fingers. The tool was about seven bucks at the parts store. But for now the Bronco is running good again and the bucks are running the does so I'll talk at ya'll later when things go south again. Again have a happy Thanksgiving, hug your kids, quitcher bitchin' about what might have been, drink a beer for the Vets, tell your wife you love her, then go get that lift kit you wanted for Christmas while she's at black Friday!
