Torque converter?

OK, so I've got it on, but somehow it doesn't seem right. I'm not sure it's entirely in all the way. it wobbles just a bit (like up down motion) and is a bit hard to turn. I've been pushing and turning but it won't go in any further. Dunno, just seems like it's not on all the way.

Is it supposed to be in like 3 inches or something? I'm trying to figure out how to tell if it's in all the way.

measure the flywheel to the block . thats what the torque converter should be from the trans to to the front of t.c.When you put the t.c. in it should click in 2 times.

you have to turn it and wiggle and push it in.should ingage !!! Good luck

I really hate this effin' T.C. It will not go in. I've been lifting from the center, spinning and pushing so it goes in. Nothing. Am I missing something here?

some info for you

Make sure the input shaft is all the way in, fully engaged with the forward clutch before trying to get the TC engaged.

IIRC, just the input shaft splines will be visible past the pump snout/stator splines. You should see no smooth shaft at all.

Granted, this is from memory. YMMV.

Sadly, it's not working. Looks like it will be off to the wrecking yard. This is a sad day. I can't keep her unless she works, and the landlady will not hear of it unless it can start up and move of it's power. Sunday was my final day given to work on it. It's now passed.
