Just wondering because I see no mention of it on the build site.............makes me wonder what else I might miss. Guess I need to read the build sheets more completely and not rely on the build site alone.

I just checked the 2012 Order Guide and it still shows as a stand alone option, not included in the Ultimate or Lariat Interior Packages. No idea why it's not showing on the Build and Price site but it's not unusual for the B&P site to have incorrect or missing information and options.

Do you happen to have a part number on the visor with the link in it? I bought a Lariat off the lot that didn't have the option and my dealer is telling me that it's not an available swap out. Go figure.

Question Confusing Part Nbrs For HomeLink Visors

Hey Guys;

Looking into replacing my lighted visor with a Home Link equipped OEM visor.

During my investigation, I discovered two almost identical part numbers forSuper Duty visors with the Home Link system. As mentioned above, part#BC3Z-2504105-GA comes up when you search for "Crew Cab" parts as Idid, but there is also part #BC3Z-2504105-FA that comes up under the"Super Cab" search.

What could possibly be the difference in visors between a Crew Cab and aSuper Cab? There is however almost $100.00 difference in price between the twowith the Crew Cab being more expensive! Naturally, I have a Crew Cab, but itsure doesn't make any sense to me why they'd be different.

Anyone have any thoughts or knows some facts? No sense in paying $100+ forthe same visor..

Thanks,

Tom

Just a guess, but maybe the -FA does not have the Homelink transmitter built in. My web searches couldn't reveal the difference either.
Also, from another thread here, -GA is adobe color and -GB is charcoal color.

note that these are not Homelink, but the newer protocol, called Car2U.
I am working to get mine functional with my property gate opener..

Lear hired a local company to come add a Car2U receiver, but we haven't been able to make it work with the Dually. A hand held Car2U remote works.
Ford says 'if the lights light when u push a button then its working'
Lear says they think the sender is broken..

gonna be gone for a couple weeks, so will work on it after we get back.
LearCar2U - Home
if there are individual lights at each button, its a Car2u. if just one Light, then Homelink.

Got mine to work on the power gates - it's the Car2U system. 1 gate it took several tries to make it work .. but finally got it ..

Definitely doesn't have to range of a regular remote.

But I ordered the truck with it specifically in mind for my gates (2 at homeplace and on in south TX...) weird both gates are programed for same code here and works perfect with one and iffy on the second - sometimes... Handheld remotes work fine on either ......

But since I have been opening/closing gates my whole life - I can't gripe - even if it's working goofy sometimes..
